Hubert “Bo” Bohannon joined The Fiorentino Group in 2007 and serves as Principal and Managing Director of the firm’s Tallahassee office. Bo’s experience in Florida government and state advocacy efforts spans more than 35 years. Throughout his career, he has gained a wealth of knowledge on issues relating to real estate and land development, energy, telecommunications, appropriations and local government.

Prior to joining The Fiorentino Group, Bo served as Director of Government Affairs at The Advocacy Group at Tew Cardenas. There he provided clients with executive and legislative lobbying services. Throughout his lobbying career, Bo has represented a wide spectrum of clients including AT&T/Bellsouth, Progress Energy, the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association and the Miami-Dade Municipal Transportation Authority. Prior to his work at Tew Cardenas, Bo served under Florida House of Representatives Speaker Allan Bense from 2004 to 2006 as Council Director of the House Commerce Council. He was also Chief Policy Advisor to the Speaker and Administrative Manager of Staff for the standing House Committees on Utilities & Telecommunications, Business Regulation, Insurance and Economic Development, Trade and Banking.

In 1995 House of Representatives Republican Caucus Leader Daniel Webster invited Bo to join his staff as Chief Legislative Analyst for commerce and economic development issues. For the next several years Bo served under House Speakers Daniel Webster, John Thrasher, Tom Feeney and Johnnie Byrd as Chief Policy Advisor and Director of several House Policy Councils dealing with business and consumer issues. During his tenure with the Florida House, Bo had policy and staffing administrative oversight for several standing committees including Insurance, Banking, Financial Services and International Trade, among others. Bo also served as Chief Operating Officer under Speaker Tom Feeney in 2000 and 2001, and Staff Director of the House Committee on Education under Speaker Johnnie Byrd in 2002.

Bo began his career in 1974 with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, where he served in various accounting and management positions. Bo was then recruited by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, where he served for eleven years in the positions of Bureau Chief of Licensure, Deputy Director and Director of the Department’s Division of Administration.

Bo’s institutional background and experience with the Florida Legislature and Executive Branch agencies have proven to be an asset throughout his career. He currently serves on the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists (FAPL) Board of Directors and on the organization’s Executive Committee as Secretary-Treasurer.

Bo studied accounting and business administration at Spartanburg College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
